Let’s Play Physical Education Challenge Finals 2018!

The fourth year of the biggest school sport initiative in South Africa, the Let’s Play Physical Education Challenge, reaches its peak on Tuesday 6th November!

The fittest primary school per province, taking into account the performances of both their Grade 4’s and Grade 6’s, will compete for the title with the Grand Prize of a R1,4-million all-purpose, all-weather multi-use sport court, sponsored by The Sports Trust, which will be built at the winning school.

Herewith relevant stats for this year’s Challenge for interest:

  • Total participation from 286 primary schools. (a further 100 schools will be engaged in the Northern Cape in December following support from UNICEF)
  • Actual participating learners in the Challenge, which includes Grade 4 & 6 = 28 600.
  • Total number of learners for all the Grades introduced to Physical Education = 240 812

The finalist school from the Northern Cape will compete against the winning school from the 8 provinces on the 11th December.
