Steers is a proud partner of Let’s Play who saw the launch of the biggest schools’ fitness initiative of the decade-the Let’s Play Physical Education Challenge in 2015. Supersport in partnership with the Department of Basic Education, Sport and Recreation South Africa, the Physical Education Institute of South Africa, UNICEF and Active Education have challenged schools throughout the country to prove their fitness with the primary objective of promoting physical education along with it’s innumerable benefits, in schools. This nationwide challenge, which targets 10 year olds, reached 403 000 kids in 477 primary schools in 2015, as part of Let’s Play’s 10th anniversary celebrations. This year, 1000 primary schools will compete for the grand prize of a multi-purpose sports court worth R1.3 million to be built at the winning school, which will sponsored by the Sports Trust.
